Song of the Month (July 2026)

Be Thou My Vision is a sixth-century Irish poem which was translated into English in the early 1900s (see more from Ligonier). Paired with a beautiful Irish tune, this hymn has been a favorite for years! Its lyrics are a reminder to keep our eyes fixed on the Lord, calling to mind Colossians 3:1-2 (KJV):

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

About the Arrangement

Be Thou My Vision is probably one of my personal favorite hymns and one of my favorite arrangements to play. The soaring Irish melody lends itself well to a very expressive piece, especially when the lyrics are also taken into consideration. I hope that this arrangement uplifts and encourages the listener and helps to bring out the meaning of the lyrics!
