Our song of the month for September is a fun traditional spiritual that I'm sure many of you know: Swing Low, Sweet Chariot.
About the Arrangement
This is one of my older arrangements (from four years ago) and for this song, I wanted to create a fun, upbeat, jazzy arrangement of the song. At first, continuing with one single rhythm and style sounded a bit monotonous, so I brought the tempo down very slightly and added a verse that was a little more low-keyed, making for an even more joyous and colorful final chorus with that contrast to compare it to.
